As part of its ongoing commitment to social responsibility and sustainable development in Jordan, INVESTBANK – the leading bank in providing innovative solutions – has announced its support a program, led by Basmt Al-Haya Organization.
Through this collaboration, INVESTBANK has donated a refrigerated truck to ensure the proper preservation and hygiene of surplus meals transported from five-star hotels to the organization’s distribution centers. The truck adheres to the highest cleanliness standards and complies with the Jordan Food and Drug Administration regulations.
The initiative’s purpose is to deliver meals to families living in underprivileged areas. These meals are distributed daily and offered as an open buffet, allowing families to select the dishes they prefer, ensuring that they meet their personal preferences.
INVESTBANK’s support for the initiative stems from its awareness of the social and environmental risks posed by food waste, including pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, and the depletion of natural resources.
Muntaser Dawwas, CEO of INVESTBANK, stated: “We are proud to support Basmt Al-Haya initiative, which embodies the principles of social responsibility and offers innovative solutions to tackle food waste and its harmful effects—while most importantly, helping families in need. This project reflects our vision of contributing meaningfully to the local community and advancing sustainable development that goes beyond economic growth to also include environmental and social justice.”
Commenting on the occasion, Khalil El Haj Tawfiq, Honorary President of Basmt Al-Haya, said: “This initiative is more than just a charitable effort; it’s a national message addressing the pressing issue of food wastage and transforming it into an opportunity to support thousands of families. At Basmt Al-Haya, we are proud to be part of this humanitarian endeavor and extend our deepest gratitude to INVESTBANK for its support and ongoing partnership. Through our joint efforts, we can sustain blessings and preserve human dignity.”
A group of INVESTBANK employees also volunteered as part of this initiative, participating in charity activities during the final days of the Holy Month of Ramadan. They helped transport food from partner hotels to distribution centers in the Jabal Al-Hussein area and assisted with distributing meals to beneficiaries. This volunteer effort reflects the bank’s human-centric values and promotes a spirit of solidarity and collaboration across the broader community.
