Definitions:
Bank: INVESTBANK or any of its branches.
Customer: An individual or a legal entity, including singular, dual, and plural forms.
Business Day: The day on which the bank’s management and branches open their doors and provide their services.
Service: The electronic bill payment service provided by INVESTBANK.
Communication Channels: iBank online banking service.
Beneficiary: The entity to which the amount of the electronic bill is to be paid.
Payment Instructions: The instructions entered on the electronic bill payment service to pay the bill amount to the beneficiary.
Commission: The amount deducted for each bill payment transaction. The commission is either charged to the beneficiary’s (company’s) account or the customer’s account, according to the agreement between the parties involved in the service.
Primary Payment Account: The first account from which the amount of electronic bills will be deducted.
Scheduled Payment Date: The predetermined date on which the bill is paid to the beneficiary.
Due Date: The date on which the amount of the bill must be paid to the beneficiary.
- These terms and conditions apply to the electronic bill payment service to the extent that they do not conflict with the General and Specific Terms and Conditions for Dealing with Accounts and Banking and Electronic Services. By subscribing to the electronic bill payment service, I acknowledge that I have received and read this agreement and agree to these terms and conditions and any amendments that may be made to them.
- Despite the use of all possible security measures by the bank to protect against the risks of opening or hacking the Internet network, the bank is not responsible for any damage that may be caused to the customer because of the risks arising from the use of the Internet. The customer alone bears all the risks arising from the service he has chosen under this request.
- The bank is not responsible for any irregularity or interruption of the service, or for the inaccuracy of the information extracted from it.
- The bank has the right to use customer information internally to provide them with information about new services.
- The bank has the right not to pay any amounts to the customer if there is not enough balance in the account at the time of payment.
- No payment transaction entered and executed through the electronic bill payment service will be canceled.
- The customer is solely responsible for any liability that may arise because of the restriction on his account using the electronic bill payment service, as well as for any error that may result from paying any amount to the account of any other beneficiary through this service.
- The customer can immediately subscribe to the electronic bill payment service using the username and password on the online banking service.
- The customer’s username and password are considered identification means that determine the customer’s identity, and any operations that are executed using these means are issued by the customer, and the bank considers any person who uses these means to be the customer. The customer is also responsible for all operations that are executed using his identification means and for any change, loss, or transfer of any of those means to others until the time the bank can stop the service based on a written notice received from the customer.
- If the customer suspects that someone is tampering with their accounts through the service, or that their username or password has been exposed by another party, the customer is obliged to notify the bank as soon as possible in writing. The customer remains responsible for all amounts arising from the misuse of the username and password until the date the customer notifies the bank.
- The bank has the right to change or modify the service instructions after notifying the customer in advance of this procedure (in writing / electronically) to his address registered with the bank. The bank also has the right to change the technology used in the service and the services provided without any prior notice and without giving any reasons.
- By subscribing to the electronic bill payment service, the customer authorizes the bank to follow the payment instructions it receives through communication channels.
- The bank is not responsible if the system is unable to complete any payments due to any of the following cases:
- Insufficient balance in the payment account.
- Force majeure circumstances preventing implementation, for example but not limited to (fires, floods, etc.)
- Failure to follow the instructions for using the service correctly.
- Unavailability of the service from the providers.
- Service interruption for any reason whatsoever, whether inside or outside the bank.
- The bank is not responsible for delivering bills to the customer electronically. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that they receive their bills by checking their account online or contacting the bank. The customer is also prohibited from using the personal information of others to access bills that do not belong to them.
- The customer is responsible for monitoring their account and paying bills on time. The bank will notify the customer of new bills according to the notification schedule for the specific beneficiary. The customer is responsible for ensuring that they have sufficient funds in their account to cover the payment and that they follow the correct instructions for making the payment.
- The customer agrees to hold the bank harmless for any damages or losses that may result from the bank’s failure to pay a bill. This includes situations where the bank is unable to process the payment due to insufficient funds, technical errors, or other unforeseen circumstances.
- The customer acknowledges that the bank may need to share their personal information with the company providing the bill payment service to process payments. The customer waives their right to bank secrecy to the extent that is necessary for the bank to fulfill its obligations under this agreement.
- The customer understands that the bank is providing the bill payment service as a courtesy and that the bank is not obligated to do so. The customer agrees to pay any fees associated with the service.
- The customer authorizes the bank to debit their account for the bill payment fee, if applicable.
- The bank has the right to collect any outstanding debts from the customer before paying their bills.
- The bank may use third-party service providers to help it deliver the bill payment service. The customer authorizes the bank to contract with these service providers as the bank sees fit.
- The bank may cancel the bill payment service at any time without notice or liability.
- The bank may change the terms and conditions of the bill payment service at any time. The customer is responsible for checking the bank’s website for updates to the terms and conditions.
- I have read the “Terms and Conditions of the Electronic Bill Payment Service” and agree to all that is stated therein.
- Any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the Amman Court of First Instance / specifically the Palace of Justice.
