INVESTBANK Sponsors Launch of “Jordan’s Product Space” Study

Monday, March 13, 2017

INVESTBANK, the leading bank in providing innovative banking solutions, recently sponsored the launch of the “Jordan’s Product Space” study at the Jordan Strategy Forum (JSF), which was held under the patronage of Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Eng. Yarub Qudah. The study, which sheds light on Jordanian exports, their level of sophistication and increasing their competitiveness, seeks to offer information and advice in order to contribute to raising the country’s GDP and bring prosperity to Jordanians.

On the occasion, INVESTBANK CEO Muntaser Dawwas said that the bank’s support for the event stems from its appreciation of the study’s importance, which through its comprehensive and in-depth analyses, illustrates the reality of Jordanian industry and its export basket. The JSF-sponsored study also helps define the country’s industrial strengths in order to develop them and increase exports to international markets.

Studies such as the one sponsored by INVESTBANK helps increase contributions by national industries to the GDP and raise the number and quality of exported products, which, in turn, positively reflects on the Kingdom’s economic and social development. In particular, the industrial sector is especially responsible for developing opportunities to utilize funds and provide job opportunities for Jordanians at a time of increased unemployment rates, especially among the country’s expansive youth segment of society. The study also helps raise awareness of the country’s developmental and economic issues and expands the private sector’s contribution to overall development.

The JSF study determined that the complexity of Jordan’s export basket in specific products and sectors remains modest, and has not yet reach the threshold that allows the country to benefit from its sophistication.

According to the study’s authors, the report and its extensive analyses offer a unique opportunity for Jordanian industry and constitute a baseline for future similar studies in the field.
