INVESTBANK honored as “Most Active Issuing Bank in Jordan” by EBRD’s Trade Facilitation Programme

Wednesday, August 4, 2021

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development recently honored the most successful partner banks operating within its Trade Facilitation Programme, awarding INVESTBANK the title of “Most Active Issuing Bank in Jordan.” The announcement came during an award ceremony held in June.

EBRD’s Trade Facilitation Programme (TFP) has been running since 1999 and aims to promote foreign trade to, from, and within the EBRD regions. The programme offers a range of products to facilitate this trade, including guarantees and trade-related cash advances. To date, the TFP has supported over 27,000 trade transactions, totaling more than EUR 22 billion.

“We are immensely proud of this achievement, which is yet another demonstration of our ongoing commitment to innovation and long-term economic prosperity,” commented INVESTBANK CEO, Muntaser Dawwas. “The Trade Facilitation Programme has played a vital role in upholding trade in the regions where EBRD operates, particularly since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. INVESTBANK is committed to continue building on this achievement and playing a pivotal role in facilitating trade and commerce in Jordan and beyond.”

The TFP Awards Ceremony was introduced by Francis Malige, EBRD Managing Director, Financial Institutions, who noted that the TFP has played a key role in supporting the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises that are vital for job creation, in addition to facilitating greater equality of opportunity across societies. “Many of our award-winning banks today developed their trade finance businesses with our help and have made extensive use of EBRD trade finance as well as our award-winning training programmes. Their success makes us extremely proud,” he added.
