INVESTBANK Expands Support for Dana Biosphere Reserve and Calls for Citizen Donations to Aid in Planting 20,000 Trees
INVESTBANK- the leading bank in providing innovative solutions, continues its dedicated support for the Dana Biosphere Reserve. Since the inception of its strategic partnership with the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature, the bank has successfully reforested over 9,000 trees within the reserve.
Since the launch of this initiative in early 2023, INVESTBANK has donated JOD 183,000 to replant various tree species, including Juniper, Pistacia, and Oak, to prevent desertification of the reserve's forests. The bank invites both clients and non-clients to contribute to the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature, providing multiple digital channels to facilitate the donation process. These channels include eFAWARTEERCOM through iBank, instant payments via credit or debit card through dedicated links, and CliQ through the 'SaveDana' beneficiary. Additionally, the bank has collaborated with the global company Global Payment Services (GPS) to design an innovative donation device available at Taj Lifestyle Center for a limited period. All donations will be fully allocated to reforesting the reserve.
Commenting on this occasion, Muntaser Dawwas, CEO of INVESTBANK, stated, "We believe that environmental conservation is a shared responsibility, and we are committed to supporting efforts to preserve Jordan's natural resources. We hope that this donation will contribute to the reforestation of the Dana Biosphere Reserve and protect this vital resource from degradation."
"We are thrilled to be part of this charity project in collaboration with INVESTBANK, as it aligns perfectly with our commitment to leveraging technology for the betterment of society," commented Mr. Ali Arab, General Manager of GPS. "By streamlining the donation process through our advanced payment solutions, we aim to empower individuals to contribute effortlessly towards protecting and preserving valuable environmental resources." Mr. Ali Arab added, "We firmly believe that by providing an intuitive and seamless platform for donations, we can inspire a wave of support from communities worldwide. Together, we can make a significant difference and create a lasting legacy for future generations."
A study conducted by the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature over the past two years has raised concerns about the health of the Dana Biosphere Reserve and Yarmouk Reserve forests. The study indicates that the forest health indicators in these protected areas are low, affecting approximately 41.2 square kilometers, or 14.1% of the total juniper trees. The number of affected trees is estimated to be between 15,000 and 20,000.
It is important to remember that the Dana Biosphere Reserve is one of the largest and most significant nature reserves in Jordan. It is home to a diverse array of plants and animals, including the critically endangered Arabian leopard, striped hyena, and golden lizard, all of which play crucial roles in preserving natural ecosystems.
