INVESTBANK, the leading bank in providing innovative banking solutions, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Green Wheelzthat is operating under the non-profit “Hearts United for Environmental Training”. The signing took place on last week between INVESTBANK CEO Muntaser Dawwas, and Green Wheelz’s founder Raeda Sabha to address two pillars; raising the awareness and taking actual steps towards saving the environment, and supporting under privileged children with disabilities especially those who suffer from cerebral palsy.

INVESTBANK’s “Time to Change!” internal CSR initiative has distributed plastic bottle cap recycling bins at its premises and branches, which will be dedicated to support the Green Wheelz initiative.

Speaking at the signing, INVESTBANK CEO Muntaser Dawwas expressed, “We take our role as environmental caretakers very seriously, and we are happy to partner with institutions and initiatives that are leading the change towards a healthier and cleaner Jordan such as Green Wheelz. Recycling for thiscause will not only raise the culture of preserving the environment among society but also will delight the children over the donated wheelchairs, education, and therapy.

“Securing a single wheelchair customized to a cerebral palsy patient requires collecting three tons of plastic caps. We raise our hats to Green Wheelz for their dedicated work,”. added Dawwas

The Green Wheelz initiative was established in order to build bridges between the environmental and humanitarian sectors and civil society as well as both the public and private sectors to encourage sustainability, raise awareness, aid children afflicted with a cerebral palsy and raise funds for their treatment and education.

Since early 2014, Green Wheelz has been operating to achieve the following four dimensions: Sustainability and Environment Protection: through engaging the whole local community in collecting used plastic bottle caps and aluminum cans to be sent for recycling instead of the random trashing process. The act of which provides protection to the Environment and Public Health at many levels while simultaneously it elongates the life time of the Landfills and alleviates some of the load and pressure on the sectors and municipalities working in waste management and Sponsoring children with disabilities for education, physiotherapy, and wheel chairs through proceeds of recycling the collected waste as well as Social awareness and transformation and Supporting the economy of local communities by sending the recyclables only to local communities in Jordan.
